Today, the Provincial Health Office received information from the Regional Epidemiological Surveillance Unit that there are 24 additional VOC cases reported in the whole Cordillera wherein twenty-three ( 23 ) cases were positive for Delta variant while one (1) was positive for Alpha variant. Seven COVID-19 cases from Kalinga are identified to be infected with Delta Variant.
The cases include a 20 years old Male from Santor,Rizal;-53 years old Female from Mabilong, Lubuagan; a 52 years old Female from Dagupan Weste, Tabuk City;-40 years old Female from Bulanao Norte, Tabuk City; a 75 years old Male from Bulanao Norte, Tabuk City;-30 years old Male from Liwan West, Rizal; and a 74 years old Female from Liwan West, Rizal.
Upon receipt of the information, the authorities have undertaken the initial steps to address the situation and will continue to do so.
The Provincial Local Government and the municipalities or LGU’s concerned were immediately informed.
Governor Tubban urged the LGUs to continue implementing stricter community quarantine guidelines and execute the immediate response needed.
He is also reminding the public that the suspension of unessential travels and, holding of unessential activities is not yet lifted.
To date, the province has recorded eight COVID19 Delta variants. Most of the hospitals and infirmaries catering to COVID19 cases in the province are in full capacity.
Let us be reminded that the province remains under General Community Quarantine, Alert Level 4.
