TUGUEGARAO CITY-Over 120 pupils from Bical Elementary School in Peñablanca, Cagayan were recently engaged in a campaign for environmental preservation led by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Sub-Office.
Through fun and interactive learning sessions, the grades 4-6 pupils together with their advisers learned about the Peñablanca Protected Landscape and Seascape, a protected area where the famous Callao Cave is located. They also learned about different environmental programs like solid waste management, National Greening Program and biodiversity conservation.
With the appearance of Pinas the Basura Buster or PBB as the icon of proper waste segregation, the kids were encouraged to segregate and recycle waste materials.
Story telling, video watching and educational games were also covered during the event.#
