Kalinga Police Scores In Week-Long Sacleo

Kalinga cops implements Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) highlighting intensified campaign against loose firearms, illegal drugs and arrest of wanted persons in the entire province on October 17 -23, 2021.

SACLEO is the new term for the ”One Time Big Time”, an all-out police operation against drug personalities, most wanted persons, and bearers of loose firearms among others.

The Kalinga Police Provincial Office’s weeklong SACLEO nets three wanted persons, ten loose firearms, one buy-bust operation, and one marijuana eradication.

The operation was participated in by all units of Kalinga PPO. Reports gathered disclosed that Warrants of Arrest served against 3 personalities wherein two are Top 9, Regional TMWP- PRO 2 4rth Quarter and Top 3 TMWP, Provincial level, Cagayan, 4rth Quarter with various criminal offenses are as follows: swindling/ estafa, and murder.

Joint Buy-bust Operation of Kalinga PPO Intelligence Unit/ Drug Enforcement Unit (PIU/DEU) and Tabuk CPS resulted in the arrest of one listed as High Value Individual (HVI) drug personality.

Meanwhile, a 4-day marijuana eradication dubbed as Kalinga PPO Oplan Green Gold Oscar at Mt. Chumanchil, Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga which resulted to the destruction of twenty-three million four hundred thousand pesos worth of marijuana.

Police Col. Davy Vicente Limmong, Provincial Director, Kalinga PPO says that without the consistency of plans and teamwork by all Police Units, these operations would not be successful. Furthermore, he encouraged all personnel to continuously commit themselves to their sworn duties and responsibilities and be steadfast for a consistent and best results. “I appreciate the commitment of our personnel on the ground in keeping peace and order in our province,” he added.

Base sa pinakahuling datos ng Provincial Health Office, nakapagtala ng 30 na panibagong kaso ang ating lalawigan, 27 naman ang mga gumaling mula sa virus at 3 ang nasawi.

Sa kabuuang bilang, 6,738 na ang COVID-19 CONFIRMED CASES ng ating probinsya, 578 dito ang ACTIVE CASES, 5,945 naman ang RECOVERED CASES at 215 na ang COVID RELATED DEATHS.

Patuloy na nadadagdagan ang kumpirmadong kaso sa ating probinsya kaya’t patuloy rin sa pagpapaalala ang ating Pamahalaang Panlalawigan na tayo ay mag-ingat at sumunod sa mga health and safety protocol na ipinatutupad ng DOH at IATF, at kung maaari ay magpabakuna na upang magkaroon ng karagdagang proteksyon kontra Covid-19.

45 Sentinel Piglets, Ibinigay sa 15 Hog Raisers

Namigay ng tig-tatlong sentinel piglets sa mga 15 na hog raisers ang Department of Agciculture Livestock Division partikular sa mga barangay ng Alba, Remus at Agaman Proper bilang tulong sa mga unang naapetuhan ng African Swine Fever (ASF) sa Baggao, Oktubre 25, 2021.

Ang pamamahagi ng naturang mga sentinel piglets ay bahagi ng ‘repopulation’ ng mga baboy sa mga naapektuhan ng ASF.

Ayon kay Sir Giner Manding, tatlong biik kasama ang 9 sako ng pagkaing baboy (feeds) ang ibinigay sa 15 hog raisers.

Hinimok naman ni Mayor Joan Dunuan ang mga hog raisers na alagaan at tutukan ang kanilang mga alaga at hangga’t maaari ay palakihing inahin ang mga ito.

Ayon naman kay Alex Domingo, isa sa mga hog raiser na nabigyan, ang mga sentinel piglets ay malaking tulong sa kanila lalo pa’t walang bayad na ibinigay ito ng pamahalaan. (Baggao Municipal Information Office press release)

DA RFO 2 Launches Hog Repopulation in Cagayan and Isabela Provinces

The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 2 (DA RFO 2) had launched the repopulation program through INSPIRE in the provinces of Isabela and Cagayan last week and today, October 25, 2021, respectively.

Distributed today are 500 piglets and 1,500 cavans of feeds to farmers in the Provincial Capitol, Alimannao Hills, Penablanca, Cagayan.

 “We now commence hog repopulation and we must be serious about this as together we rise from the cruel ASF,” Engr. Monico Castro, Jr., Field Operations Chief said. Farmers from Solana, Alcala, Piat, Tuao, Baggao, and Amulung, aside from the piglets and 3 cavans of starter, grower and finisher feeds each also received vitamins, drugs and biologics.

Meanwhile, Dr. Noli Buen, Cagayan PVET Office and Dr. Wilfredo Iquin expressed their thanks to DA RFO 2 and encouraged the farmers to help one another in the efforts of hog repopulation.

Cagayan Valley, especially Isabela was hit hard by the African Swine Fever leaving the hog industry on its knees.

With Castro were Dr. Bryan Sibayan, Regional Livestock Program Focal Person, Mr. Demetrio D. Tang, Dr. Giovani Tumaliuan and Mr. Ferdinand Arquero.

Last week, distribution of hogs and animal feeds was also undertaken last October 20, 2021. Led by Regional Executive Director Narciso A. Edillo of DA RFO 02 in collaboration with the Provincial Veterinary (PVET) Office of Isabela, recipients from the municipalities of Isabela like Echague, Cordon, San Guillermo, San Isidro and Aurora received 257 heads of pigs and 567 bags of animal feeds.

“May this assistance will help you recover from your losses brought by ASF and being aggravated by the pandemic,” Edillo said.

“We are looking forward for your cooperation by practicing biosecurity measures in order to achieve the goal of our repopulation initiatives.”

The beneficiaries had passed the sentinelling protocols which was implemented prior to repopulation. Mr. Rolando Sambrano of San Ramon, Isabela expressed his appreciation to the government for implementing the repopulation program.

 “Isa po akong namatayan ng alagang baboy at ngayon ay nakatanggap ng ayuda mula sa DA. Ako ay nagpapasalamat sa tulong na ito ng pamahalaan upang makapag-umpisa kami ulit sa aming pamumuhay,” he said. (DA Region 2/Ferdinand Cortez and Jules Florague)

Ramon, Isabela – The DOLE RO2, through its Isabela Field Office (IFO), awarded an additional seven (7) Nego-Karts to ambulant vendor-beneficiaries in a turnover ceremony conducted in this town’s municipal hall earlier today.

The labor department’s Serbisyo Caravan, led by Secretary Bebot Bello, has included the provision of Nego-Karts to its line-up of programs in recent days, notably distributing Nego-Karts in the towns of Tumauini, Cabagan and now Ramon just this week.

The DOLE here in the Cagayan Valley Region will conduct similar awarding as well as the implementation of its other programs and services in the next coming days, targeting to utilize all its cascaded funds before the end of CY 2021.

Piat, Cagayan – 100 informal sector workers from this town received their wages from DOLE’s TUPAD in a payout organized by the DOLE RO2, through its Cagayan-Batanes Field Office (CBFO), on October 25, 2021.

The payout was made possible through the labor department’s partnership with the SAGIP Partylist and LGU Piat through Mayor Carmelo Villacete. Other dignitaries present were Vice Mayor Leonel Guzman and PESO Manager Reymundo Villacete III.

The DOLE was represented by Ms. Liezel Magno, representing Sec. Bebot Bello, Regional Director Joel Gonzales, ARD Grace Pomar and CBFO Chief Prexie Caronan.

The DOLE RO2 has so far disbursed more than P400M under TUPAD for CY 2021, helping assist displaced and underemployed workers get emergency assistance in these trying times.

Cagayan Valley Covid-19 Update | As of October 24, 2021

Naitala kahapon, October 24, 2021, ng Department of Health- Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development ang 561 na karagdagang kaso ng COVID-19. Samantala ay mayroon namang naitalang 363 na gumaling at 16 ang naitalang namatay.

Sa kabuuang bilang ng mga naitalang kaso sa rehiyon, 5.36% (6,741) ang aktibong kaso, 91.40% (117,104) na ang gumaling, at 3.30% (4,232) ang namatay.

Nananatili sa 135 ang aktibong kaso sa Baggao matapos makapagtala ng panibagong 8 kaso laban sa 7 na clinical recoveries, Oktubre 25.

Isa naman ang naitalang bagong nasawi kaugnay ng COVID-19 mula sa barangay ng Mabini dahilan para umakyat na sa 165 ang bilang ng mga namatay kaugnay ng sakit.

Cordillera Covid-19 Regional Weekly Review

The DOH-CAR reports 6,297 recoveries, 2,864 cases and 103 deaths from October 16 – 22, 2021.

Comparing the DOH-CAR report from the previous week (Oct. 9 – 15), the new recoveries decreased by 817 (from 7,114 to 6,297); new cases decreased by 1,342 (from 4,206 to 2 864) and deaths increased by 3 (from 100 to 103).

-On confirmed cases: only Mountain Province has an upward trend and all the other provinces, including Baguio City have decreased number of new cases.

-On recoveries: Apayao, Benguet and Mountain Province have upward trend while Abra, Baguio City, Ifugao and,Kalinga showed a downward trend.

-On deaths: Abra, Apayao, Baguio City and Mountain Province showed an increase in number of deaths while a decrease was recorded in Benguet, Ifugao and Kalinga
