APARRI, Cagayan — Typhoon Marce (international name: Yinxing) left coastal communities like Barangay Punta in this town in ruins on Friday, Nov. 8, with images shared by residents showing toppled houses, scattered corrugated roofing and damaged fishing boats.

Local fisherman Bernard Reynon said many of the boats used for their livelihood had been destroyed by the storm’s fierce winds.

As the town recovers, authorities are focused on clearing the aftermath and providing assistance to those most affected.

Meanwhile, in Tuguegarao City, Mayor Maila Ting-Que issued a warning for motorists, directing them to take alternative routes due to continued flooding on Pinacanauan Nat Tuguegarao Avenue.

Barricades have been set up to prevent traffic from passing through the area, as it remains submerged.#
