CAUAYAN CITY — A light airplane went missing early Thursday while flying over the coastal towns of Palanan and Maconacon in Isabela province, authorities said.

Captain Levy Abul II piloted the Cessna aircraft with tail number RP-C1234 and was carrying a lone passenger when it took off from the Cauayan domestic airport at 9:39 a.m., according to a report by Captain Eduard Caballero, Cauayan Aviation police station chief.

Caballero said the plane failed to reach the Palanan airport, where it was expected to arrive 25 minutes after leaving Cauayan.

The aircraft lost communication with the Cauayan airport tower before it went missing. INQ
