Camp Marcelo A Adduru, Tuguegarao City – The Criminal Investogation and Detection Group (CIDG) Regional Field Unit 2 and other PRO2 forces nabbed the National Top Most Wanted Person with DILG Reward Php 380,000 in the execution of the operational plan in violation of Omnibus Election Code (gunban) and violation of RA 9516 in Echague, Isabela 5:00 this morning, September 22.
The arrested person was identified as alias “Bang/Poktong/Frank”, Periodic Status Report Threat Group (PSRTG) Listed, and Secretary of KomProb Isabela, Komiteng Rehiyon-Cagayan Valley.
The discovery of the contrabands in violation of the Omnibus Election Code rooted from the service of two Warrants of Arrest against the accused for the crimes of Murder and Robbery, both with no bail recommended.
During the service of warrants of arrest against the said accused, confiscated from his direct possession were one unit of M16 A1 with defaced Serial number; one unit of M16 A2 POF-USA Model-P-415 with SN 150188; one unit of AK without SN; five magazines for M16 rifle; fifty-four live ammunition for M16 rifle; four magazines for AK; twenty-nine live ammunition for AK; one hand grenade Atis type MK2 HE; one hand grenade M67 HE; one Grenade Rifle HE; one binocular telescope; and other personal stuff.
Further, the alias “Ferdy” was also arrested for Violation of PD 1829 otherwise known as Penalizing Obstruction of Apprehension and Prosecution of Criminal Offenders during the police operation.
Also part of the operating teams were Santiago CFU, CIDG RFU2 RSOT, CIDG RFU2 Cagayan PFU,RMFB2, PIU-Isabela PPO, 2nd IPMFC, RID PRO2, 2ISU, AIR, PA, 502nd Bde, 86IB, 95IB, 52MICO, 3rd K9 Pltn, 9Co, K9Bn AIR, NICA2, and Echague MPS.
Police Brigadier General Christopher Birung, PRO2 Regional Director recognized the joint efforts of the CIDG and PRO2 units that resulted to the success of this operation. Officer said that this is a huge breakthrough in the campaign against insurgency and criminality in Cagayan Valley. “I believe that the apprehension of alias “Bong” will weaken the anti-government troop in Echangue, Isabela and nearby areas of operation. PRO2 will never cease to exert its best effort to put an end in the insurgency problem in the region,” RD Birung further said.
