TUGUEGARAO CITY — A 33-year-old rider died while his wife was injured when their motorcycle collided with a passenger van along the city road here on Thursday evening, police said.
The fatality was identified as Ray Francis Gumabay and the injured as Rose Ann Gumabay, both of this city, according to Lt. Anazel Bosi, city police spokesperson.
They were brought to a private hospital but Ray Francis was declared dead on arrival. Rose Ann was still under observation.
Van driver Rene Pajarillo, 24, was heading north when the motorcycle rammed into the car’s left portion.
The van was reportedly traveling at normal speed, while the motorcycle was over-speeding.
Pajarillo’s van was placed in the custody of the city police station.
He promised to help shoulder the funeral expenses of the fatality and the wife’s hospitalization cost.#
