In anticipation of the upcoming Holy Week and the onset of the summer vacation, the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO Cordillera) Regional Director, PBGEN DAVID K PEREDO, JR, ordered the deployment of a total of 2,308 policemen region-wide to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
To manage the anticipated influx of travelers, PRO Cordillera cops will be stationed at major thoroughfares and transportation hubs, providing assistance and maintaining order, especially since passengers are expected to flock to the different bus terminals to go home to their respective provinces in the coming days.
Furthermore, officers will be strategically positioned in commercial areas such as malls, parks, markets, and locations hosting religious activities to enhance public safety and uphold orderliness.
Apart from the deployment plan, PBGEN PEREDO JR convened a meeting with PRO Cordillera key officers, where he instructed them to ensure flawless implementation of their security plans, specifically to conduct intensified police patrols, checkpoint operations, and traffic management.
PBGEN PEREDO JR, also instructed the Provincial Directors and City Directors to coordinate with other concerned agencies, especially the Local Government Units, to ensure the safety of the public in their respective areas of responsibility.
In addition to police personnel, 353 individuals, comprising the Reactionary Standby Support Force and volunteers, will be deployed to supplement security measures during the holiday period.
The Holy Week and the Day of Valor, or “Araw ng Kagitingan” observance, mark the start of summer vacation; thus, PRO Cordillera cops are already conducting preventive security measures to ensure the safety of the public.#
